NATCHEZ — As the Natchez Dixie Youth currently hosts the coach pitch tournament at Duncan Park, little league all-star tournaments will continue taking over the Miss-Lou this summer with games from Concordia Dixie Youth and T.M. Jennings stretching from the end of June into July.

One week following the 7-year-old tournament, Vidalia’s machine pitch all-stars will host a tournament at the Concordia Parish Recreation District No. 3 Complex Friday. The tournament will be a round robin that features Concordia, Winnsboro, Catahoula, Caldwell and South Franklin. The district tournament will follow on July 4 in Winnsboro.

The ensuing week will feature Concordia Parish hosting another district tournament, this time a 10-year-old tournament July 5. Vidalia will host 10 teams in a double elimination format.

Concordia Parish Dixie Youth president Mike Bowlin isn’t worried about hosting two tournaments back-to-back after having a year of experience at the new complex.

“It shouldn’t be too bad,” Bowlin said. “We got all of our kinks out last year.”

T.M. Jennings president Deselle Davis said the 9 and 10 year olds and 11 and 12 year old all-stars will each host tournaments at the Frazier Elementary School field on July 11. Teams from Hattiesburg and Quitman will be represented.
