Thanks to staff of Duncan Park

I would like to commend and thank Greg Brooking and his staff for making the Duncan Park Golf Course a first class entity that probably has no equal in the State of Mississippi.

The greens are fast and rolling, well-watered with good turf and with an abundant of flowering — especially at the fourth hole green and at No. 6.

After watching the U.S. Open last weekend at the No. 2 Course at Pinehurst where the public can play for $300 per person, I was amazed at the sorry state of what was supposed to be a grand course.

The fairways were dry and obviously non-irrigated, the traps looked eroded and unkempt, and the “rough” areas could have been in Mexico with scrub plants and weeds sparsely covering sandy dirt.

That experience shown on national television told me how lucky we are here in Natchez to have such a beautiful facility in our Duncan Park Golf Course.
