FRANKLIN COUNTY — Services for Charles E. Myers Sr., 83, of Smithdale, who died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at King’s Daughter’s Medical Center in Brookhaven, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Matt Emfinger officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Catchings Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.

Mr. Myers was born March 15, 1931, in Brookhaven, the son of James W. and Ethel Pollard Myers.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a deacon and member of Concord Baptist Church. He was a retired electrician from International Paper Company in Natchez.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-granfather and friend.

Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jimmy Myers and Jack Myers; and three sisters, Effie Myers Ellis, Mary Myers Frost and Annie Myers King.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Yvonne Moore Myers; two sons, Charles “Eddy” Myers and wife, Cindy, of Smithdale, and Alvin Myers of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Ellen Myers King and husband, Roy, of Flowood; one sister, Billie Myers King of Anguilla; three granddaughters, Lisa Myers Prestridge and husband, Lance, LeAnna Myers, and Samantha McWhirter; two great-grandsons, Sawyer and Chase Prestridge; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
