FERRIDAY — Services for Edith N. Guillory, 85, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, will be at 2 p.m. today at Comer Funeral Home with the Rev. Bo Swilley officiating.

Burial will follow in Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Guillory was born April 25, 1929, the daughter of Howard L. and Edith Tidwell Welch.

She was employed by the Vidalia Police Department for more than 39 years, and at her retirement was the oldest city employee of the history of the department at that time.

She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She will be missed by all that knew her.

Mrs. Guillory was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton “Sonny” Guillory; her parents; one son, Tony Guillory Sr.; two daughters, Stephanie Forman and Lori Guillory; and two sisters, Maggie Lee Opitz and Myrtle Ann Welch.

Survivors include two sons, Clinton Pete Guillory of Vidalia, and Danny Michael “T” Guillory and wife, Cretia, of Longville; one daughter, Kristi Hopkins of Vidalia; 10 grandchildren, Tony Welch Guillory Jr., Stephen Guillory, Joey Guillory, Lori Froust, Shane Geohagen, AJ Firmin, Brad Guillory, Mellissa Nugent, Duston White and Kellye Braley; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-granchildren; one brother, Harold Welch and wife, Dorothy, of Stonewall; four sisters, Ona Hedricks, Shirley Swindley and Donna Nolan and husband, Johnny, all of Shreveport, and Collis Ezell of Stonewall.

Pallbearers will be AJ Firmin, Jacob Sikes, Brad Guillory, DJ Maynard, Joshua Guillory and Mike McCarty.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Dunn, Terry Robinson, Tony Welch Guillory Jr., Grant Guillory and Shane Geohagen.

The family would like to extend their appreciation and recognition to the Camellia Hospice Group of Vidalia, for the care and love they gave to our loved one.
