NATCHEZ — David King’s ACCS Rebels have some lofty goals in 2014, and King hopes his Rebels can start the journey off right in an away game against the WCCA Rams Friday.

The Rams are coming off of a 35-6 jamboree loss to the Cathedral Green Wave, while the Rebels are coming off of a 12-0 win against MHSAA Class 4A Raymond High School and a 7-7 tie against Northpoint Christian School at Mississippi College. King said he has his team concentrating on taking care of business and not overlooking WCCA.

“I can’t imagine any high school player that would be overlooking a team in their first game,” King said. “WCCA is a proud school. They’re a young team, and we can’t take them lightly.”

WCCA has a new head coach in Kyle White, but White is no stranger to the Rams. In 2013, White said he was responsible for most of the offensive duties, so fans can expect a similar offensive approach that the Rams ran last season.

WCCA is coming off of a 3-7 season, including a first round playoff loss to University Academy.

King said he’s looking for some senior leadership on the road, hoping his veteran players will set the tone early in the season.

“I’m looking at my seniors to take care of business,” King said.
