WOODVILLE — Adams County Christian School jumped out to a big first quarter lead and never looked back as the Rebels defeated the Wilkinson County Christian Academy Rams 52-6 Friday night.

ACCS was less than two minutes away from a shutout win until WCCA quarterback Justin Prevost scored on a 12-yard run with 1:41 remaining. That was one of the few bright spots for the Rams in this game.

“We made a few mistakes. We had too many turnovers. It’s a work in progress,” WCCA head coach Kyle White said. “We’re green coming into a new position. We can correct everything we did wrong.”

This game belonged to ACCS from the beginning of the game. The Rebels scored 27 points in the first quarter en route to a commanding 40-0 halftime lead. With the score being out of reach, the second half was played with a running clock – the only thing that could slow down the Rebels’ offense.

“Woodville (WCCA) played good. We just had more speed,” ACCS head coach David King said. “We did a couple of things good and a couple of things bad. We got out of there injury-free. Good way to start the season.”

Tyler Stockstill completed three of six passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Carlos Woods was three for four for 57 yards and one touchdown. Trey Fleming had two catches for 73 yards and one touchdown to go with an 80-yard punt return for a touchdown. Parker Rymer and Lester Wells also had touchdown catches.

Torrey Smith had two catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Wells and Davis Sharp also had touchdown runs.

“David King has a good team. Our goal was to compete with them,” White said.

White said that Prevost did a good job under center considering this was his first start since the ninth grade. He also said that the offensive line did a good job as the game went on.

Prevost completed just one of five passes for 49 with two interceptions. He also had 11 carries for 53 yards. WCCA was held to 196 yards of total offense and nine first downs and turned the ball over three times.

ACCS (1-0) hosts River Oaks School at 7 p.m. Friday. WCCA (0-1) will have its hands full for a second straight week when it hosts Tri-County Academy at 7 p.m. Friday.
