SICILY ISLAND, La. — Funeral services for Charles Nash Rutledge, 82, of Sicily Island, who died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Patton Baptist Church with the Rev. Clois Cole officiating.

Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday.

Mr. Rutledge was born July 24, 1932, in Jonesville, the son of Horace Nash Rutledge and Louella Tarpley Rutledge.

He was a resident of Sicily Island and a member of the Baptist faith.

Rutledge was a Master Mason and was past Worshipful Master of Keystone Lodge 213.

Rutledge retired from Chevron USA Standard Oil Company with 38 years of service.

Rutledge proudly served his county in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He loved his family and, above all, the Lord.

Rutledge was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gracie Carroll and brother, Marion Rutledge.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Annis Rutledge of Sicily Island; sons, Charles “Booger” Rutledge and wife, Connie Sue, of Sicily Island, Marion “Nank” Rutledge and his wife, Michelle, of Jacksonville, Horace Nash “Chuck” Rutledge and his wife, Kathy, of Shreveport; daughter, Cynthia Hatton and husband, Bobby, of Ten Mile, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Rachal Hatton and Becky Hatton; two brothers, Ed Rutledge and wife, Peggy, and L.W. Rutledge and wife, Carolyn, all of Jonesville; two sisters, Molly Nichols and husband, Cleo, of Jena, and Lena Mae Finn of Odessa, Texas; sister-in-law, LaRada Rutledge of Harrisonburg; six grandsons, Christ Hatton and wife, Destiny, Eric Rutledge, Heath Rutledge and wife, Chasity, Tristin Rutledge, Kyle Rutledge and Nathan Rutledge; great-granddaughter, Brittney Hatton; four great-grandsons, Travis Sermons, David Robert Hatton, Zane Rutledge and Zade Rutledge and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews along with many close friends and extended family members.

Pallbearers will be Beau Robinson, Landon Williams, Cade Williams, Brandon Hilliard, Dennis Lucas and Eli Rutledge.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Lucas, Kenneth McLeland, Bruce Rutledge, Kevin Rutledge, John Smith, Bruce Mott, David Hilliard and Randy Goodwin.
