LIBERTY — Services for Lester “Hard Knot” Howard, 72, of Summit, who died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at his residence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. James Bates officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Howard was born March 8, 1942, in New Orleans, the son of Dorothy Young.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Edward Howard.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Knox Howard; three children, Kendrick Knox and wife, Aldora, Keonta “Silver” Knox and Lamecha Knox; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives and friends.
