VIDALIA — A Vidalia man faces a mandatory life sen-tence following his conviction for second-degree murder Tuesday.

A Concordia Parish jury de-liberated for 22 minutes be-fore returning the guilty ver-dict against Vincent Dotson, 21.

Dotson killed Derec “Beedy” Dobbins, 24, with a single gunshot to the chest early on the morning of Aug. 28, 2013.

Witnesses at the trial said Dobbins had been trying to resolve a misunderstanding with Dotson when Dotson pulled a handgun and shot him.

Dotson is scheduled for formal sentencing Nov. 12.
