RAYVILLE, La. — Mackenzie Boyd led Adams County Christian School with 13 points and Skylar Adams had 12 points as the Lady Rebels rolled to a 57-20 win over the Riverfield Academy Lady Raiders Monday night.

After getting off to a slow start in the early goings of the first quarter, ACCS pulled away from Riverfield and had an 18-6 lead at the end of the quarter. The Lady Rebels’ stifling defense made it difficult for the Lady Raiders to get any good looks at the basket in the second and third quarters.

ACCS outscored Riverfield 17-5 in the second quarter for a 35-11 halftime lead and 12-4 in the third quarter for a commanding 47-15 advantage.

“Our defense stepped up. They have a big girls who’s close to six feet tall, but she got in foul trouble early,” Lady Rebels assistant coach Brandy Hall said. “Team unity showed on both ends offensively and defensively.”

With the Lady Rebels having such a big lead in the second half, the starting five came out and the bench players came in and those players continued to add to their lead.

“We had so many girls step up. Mackenzie and Skylar stepped up tonight. Mackenzie had her best game so far,” Hall said. “The bench stepped up. They took up the slack. We had real good performance from our bench as well as our starting (five).”

ACCS (5-0) will travel to McComb today to take on MAIS Class AAA Parklane Academy.
