NATCHEZ — Services for Elaine Virginia Thornton Price, 86, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at Promise Rehabilitation Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Russell Wagoner officiating.

Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday, both at the funeral home.

Mrs. Price was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Amite County, the daughter of John Shelby Thornton and Lula Dees Thornton.

She was a lifelong resident of Mississippi and very active in church work for a number of years, which included a Sunday school teacher, choir, secretary and librarian.

Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Curtis Thornton, Norman Thornton, Loyd Thornton and Jewell Thornton; and four sisters, Eunice Rushing, Ruth Mauldin, Elma Wilkinson and Juanita Moser.

Survivors include her husband, James C. Price; two sons, Lawrence Neal Thompson of Warren, Ohio and John Michael Thompson of Kingston; five grandchildren, Drew Lawrence Thompson and Blaire Evan Thompson of Warren, Cristofer Thompson and Yohan Thompson of Kingston and Meida Thompson of Costa Rica; and two sisters-in-law, Eva Lehmann and Sarah Goins, both of Buna, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Drew Thompson, Cristofer Thompson, Yohan Thompson, Mickey Gillespie, Brian Upton and Mike Upton.
