JONESVILLE — Services for Clyde Walker, 79, of Jonesville, who died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jonesville with the Rev. Craig James, Gary Wagoner and Lloyd Trisler officiating.11:29ClydeWalker obitpic

Burial will follow at the Heard Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Walker was born Sept. 2, 1935, in Gilbert, La., the son of Willie and Maggie Walker.

Clyde spent more than 50 years working in law enforcement. He began his career as a deputy under the former Catahoula Parish Sheriff J.Y. McGuffee. He served as chief of police for the Town of Jonesville until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughters, Katherine Ruth and Karen René; one brother, Willie Ray “Snowball” Walker; one brother-in-law, Donnie Collins; in-laws, Katie and Burley House Sr.; and one sister-in-law, Wynonna House.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty House Walker; one brother, Adron Walker and wife, Barbara; one sister, Shirley Collins; one brother-in-law, Burley House Jr.; a number of nieces and nephews, Robin Walker Pierce and husband, Patrick, Robert Walker, Randall Walker, Chris Collins, Kimberly Walker Price and husband, Eric, Gayle House LaPrairie and husband, Darrell, and Charles “Bo” House and wife, Becky; great-nieces and great-nephews, Blake Richard and wife, Hannah, Rachel Richard and fiancé, Aaron, Carson and Avery Walker, Christopher and Emily Collins, Erica Price Hales, Kaitlyn Price, Jenny Sharp and husband, Justin, Beth Ainsworth and husband, Jesse, Ethan House and wife, Holli, and Jessie House; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Jordan and Jenna Kate Sharp, Olivia and Alanie Ainsworth and Jaxon Meyers.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Ainsworth, Chris Collins, Ethan House, Darrell LaPrarie, Patrick Pierce, Blake Richard, Robert Walker and James White.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde’s nieces and nephews, James Branch, Debra Hawkins, Raymond Rouse, Henry Arthur Taliaferro Jr. and Drew Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a church of your choice.
