PORT GIBSON — Services for Malcolm “Mac” Lester Walters, 81, of Lorman, who died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, will be at 2 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. P.J. Curley officiating.

Burial will follow at the Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. Walters was born July 30, 1933, in Jefferson County, the son of Herman N. Walters and Salonia Curtis Walters.

He was a graduate of United Vocational School in Red Lick and was employed by Cohn Brothers in Lorman in the old store. He also operated the gin during the cotton harvesting season. After working at the Fayette branch of Farmers Corps for a number of years, he worked at Synergy Gas in Fayette until he retired.

Mr. Walters was preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Mildred; and one brother, Melvin.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Christine; one son, Malcolm C. Walters and wife, Jennifer; three daughters, Debora E. Andrew and husband, Mike, of West Virginia, Janice Walters of Lorman and Cynthia Melinie and husband, Phil, of Gonzales, La.; two grandchildren, Daniel Liam Walters and Lauren Ashley Walters; and one nephew, Rodney N. Walters.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital or to a charity of choice.
