MEADVILLE — Memorial services for William “Bill” Fredrick Manning Sr., 94, who died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Meadville United Methodist Church.

Burial will follow a the Midway Cemetery in Meadville under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Brookhaven.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Manning was born June 28, 1920, in Portland, Ark., the son of William Van Manning and Henrietta Stella Morman Manning.

He was a retired hardwood inspector/salesman with National Hardwood Lumber Association.

Bill,” as his friends called him, loved woodworking. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and Elk Lodge of Natchez.

Mr. Manning was a member of the Meadville United Methodist Church. He loved his church and enjoyed working with the “Jolly Elders.”

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred Inez Manning; and two sisters, Margie Lynn and Ruby Harkey.

Survivors include two sons, William Fredric Manning Jr. and wife, Shirlee Grabko of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and Francis Van Manning of Maryville, Tenn.; one daughter, Ruthie Manning Cochran and husband, Bill, of Natchez; one granddaughter, Ashley Hancock Hammack and husband, Casey, of Meadville; one grandson, Tim Manning; and two great-granddaughters, Madison Manning and Harleigh Hammack.
