VIDALIA — Two Ferriday men were arrested Monday for possessing child pornography.

The Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the situation, while more charges are still pending for the suspects, CPSO investigator Phillip Webber said.

Corliss L. Jones, 43, 751 Doty Road, Ferriday, was charged with pornography involving juveniles.

Murle Ray Mcneece, 48, 564 Cowan St., Ferriday, was charged with pornography involving juveniles and indecent behavior with juveniles.

Webber said one of the suspects left a cell phone at a Vidalia residence. The CPSO were then contacted by someone who was looking at the suspect’s phone, which contained explicit messages and improper pictures of juveniles that were being exchanged by Jones and Mcneece.

CPSO Deputy Phillip Smith and Deputy Rob Polk were given consent to search the suspect’s phone.

Upon searching the phone, the two deputies found explicit messages and photographs of juveniles.

Webber said the suspects had no physical interaction with any juveniles.

“It’s one of the most difficult cases to deal with,” Webber said. “I have an 11 year old daughter, so it’s kind of hard not to take things like this personal.”

Webber said it’s up to the court system if Jones and Mcneece are registered as sex offenders.

“They will not be labeled sex offenders until they are convicted of the crime,” Webber said.

Jones and Mcneece are currently being held at the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility with a bond of $100,000 each.
