SMITHDALE — Funeral services for Brenda Jean Wicker, 71, of Smithdale, MS, who died Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at St. Dominic Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Smithdale with the Rev. Basil Wicker and Rev. Thomas Wicker officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Jones Family Funeral Services.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church

Wicker was born on Jan. 11, 1944, in Philadelphia, the daughter of Harvey Fryery and Ruth Leapord. She was an office manager for an accounting office for over 22 years. She enjoyed sports and outdoors and she also loved to fish. She had a special cat she loved named Sassy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harvey “Jr.” Fryery; and sister, Donna Shepherd.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Bobby Wicker; two sons, Tony Wicker Jr. of Jackson and Tony Moore of Smithdale; two daughters, Melissa Wicker of New Orleans and Sheila Austin of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Paulette Sewell of Natchez and Debbie Freeman and her husband, Sonny, of Lafayette, La.; one sister-in-law, Jean Fryery of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Jaylee Thomas, Megan Wicker, Mark Goodwin Jr., Monica Goodwin, Morgan Goodwin, Skye Cliburn and Trey Cliburn; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
