Earlier this week, Wilson’s church, Highland Baptist, presented the drama, “Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames.”

Wilson said the show was well attended and well done, and several people, each night, were moved to seek salvation — including her son.

The drama consists of various scenarios where a person makes a choice and a consequence follows.

One of the central issues, however, centers around where these people will spend eternity.

“When I saw this production seven years ago, I was thinking about how wrong of a path I was on,” Wilson said. “I didn’t go to church at that time, and I really didn’t want anything to do with it.”

Wilson said the scene about drinking and partying hit her hard, and she felt compelled to answer the call she had on her life.

Wilson joined Highland Baptist immediately after and has been an active member since that time. Two years later, her husband, Steven, joined as well.

“I do not regret my decision to follow Jesus at all,”Wilson said. “My faith has been so important in my life, and I am grateful I made that choice seven years ago.”

Wilson and her husband were both involved in the production this time. The couple portrayed angels.

“We were on stage the entire time,” Wilson said. “It was amazing to watch the different scenes as they touched the audience. You could see the moment that each person was impacted.”

Wilson said it was an awesome experience to be able to let God work through her to even participate in the production, and now she feels closer to her whole church family.

Wilson’s son, Trae, said he enjoyed the production, and he made his decision after the program because he felt deeply touched.

“I have seen families where moms and dads fight,” Trae said. “It is hard, but God can work it out.  I have seen that, too.”

Wilson said she is overjoyed with the decision her son has made.

“I am excited he made this choice on his own,” Wilson said. “I know that he is going to be raised in a good Christian home, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for my son.”

Trae attends Sunday school, children’s church and discipleship training at Highland. He is also in a Bible study class for boys on Wednesday nights.

Trae will be baptized Sunday night during the regular night worship service, along with 10 others.
