NGC celebrating spring, fashion

After a few days of sun and warm temperatures, who is ready for spring?

Hopefully, the groundhog won’t see his shadow this week and allow us an early spring to help thaw the bitter winter we have had.

The members of the Natchez Garden Club are hosting a Spring Style Show from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Bailey House, the beautiful home of Dr. and Mrs. Jack Rodriguez, located at 400 South Commerce St. in downtown Natchez.

With the help of Katie McCarstle and Angela Gibson of Katie’s Ladies Apparel, the members of the club will show off the best of the fashion to be seen this coming spring and summer.

Instead of the usual lunch-time event, we are starting the weekend off right with a little happy hour of fashion.

Join this casual, fashion-forward event and enjoy wine, cheese, and light hors d’oeuvres. The cost of this event is only $10, so bring a friend.

On another note, the garden club is also hosting a raffle ticket fundraiser this spring to help with the capital campaign to help with the renovations of Magnolia Hall. Brenda Edgin and Sharon Sharp are hard at work to make this raffle fundraiser a hit. These tickets are on sale for $25 a piece and can be purchased at the style show.

Each ticket enters you to win one of five fantastic prizes. The first is a week’s stay at the Tanner’s lake house in Lake St. John.  What a wonderful way to kick off the warm weather than right across the river on the beautiful lake?

Next is a set of three pre-season New Orleans Saints tickets.

Another possible prize is one week on the beach in Dauphin Island. Who doesn’t love a little fun, sun, and sand?

Next, we will be offering an Oxford weekend celebrating the Double Decker Art Festival, tickets to the Ole Miss baseball games that weekend, and accommodations in a fabulous condominium in historic Oxford.

Spring and baseball are a perfect fit.

Lastly, once again the Hotel Aventura Mexicana in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, is lending a helping hand to our fundraising efforts with a five nights stay in this breathtaking resort.

Now, who doesn’t want to take a chance (or 10) at one of these fantastic get-aways while helping the Natchez Garden Club at the same time?  To purchase these tickets, simply call the garden club office at 601-443-9065 to learn more and pick them up.

As always, please check our many social media outlets for upcoming events, throwback pictures, and information about the club. We are on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Pushlocal.  You can always visit our website for a complete listing of our events to help you save the date throughout the spring and summer months.

Again, we hope to see each of you at our Spring Style Show at 5 p.m. Thursday.
