FERRIDAY — Services for Augustine “Goody” Davis, 68, of Ferriday, who died at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at New Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow at the Consurella Cemetery in Waterproof under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Ms. Davis was born May 26, 1946, in Ferriday, the daughter of George Smith and Dorothy Davis.

She was employed as a shipping clerk.

Ms. Davis was Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, James Cole Davis.

Survivors include one son, Michael Smith and wife, Lynette of Minneapolis, Minn.; one brother, Willie Davis and wife, Shirley, of St. Joseph; three sisters, Laura Davis, Julia Davis, both of Ferriday, and Jean Davis of Monroe, La.; six grandchildren, Shanice Wilson, Octavia Smith, Marcus Bryant, all of Minneapolis, Jabariss Smith of Texarkana, Texas, Jamie Davis of Natchez and Greg Davis of Dallas; one daughter-in-law, Jackie Davis of Natchez; a special friend, Leonard “Shorty” Kelly of Ferriday; two aunts; one uncle; and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
