Eggapalooza features 50,000 eggs

Last year when my husband, Michael Messer, told me we needed to up the amount of eggs at our egg hunt, I truly thought he was crazy. But he truly wanted to make Eggapalooza an apalooza event and be a blessing to the community at the same time.

The definition of an apalooza is an exaggerated event. On Saturday, April 4, the Natchez State Park along with Natchez Church of God will be having just that. The second annual Eggapalooza will start at 10 a.m. at the Natchez State Park. You are not going to want to miss out on this egg-citing event for our community and it is free.

There will be games, face painting and door prizes. There will be a time of devotion. At around 11 a.m., the Easter egg hunt will begin. Kids will be searching for 50,000 eggs. Yes, you read that correctly, 50,000 eggs! Kids will be separated by ages for them to hunt in their designated area. Kids of all ages are welcome.

Bring your Easter basket to collect your goodies. There will be candy eggs, toy eggs, and some hidden prize eggs as well. Some eggs will have numbers written on them and you can turn them in for some really neat prizes.

Also at 11 a.m., hotdogs, chips and drinks will be available for your enjoyment and they are free as well.

Several local businesses have been gracious and donated all kinds of goodies for door prizes.

There will even be a gift card or two for some local shopping just in time for Easter to maybe pick up a few last minute items.

The whole event is free for everyone so bring your entire family on out the Natchez State Park on Saturday to help us find 50,000 eggs.

Please join us for our second annual Eggapalooza out at the Natchez State Park this Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. for some free family fun. Just follow the signs.

Then on Sunday morning, Natchez Church of God’s praise band and choir will be presenting some Easter songs and drama starting at 10:45 a.m. The church is located at 98 McNeely Road here in Natchez.

If you would like more information, please call the church office at 601-445-5135 or email us at contact@natchezchurchofgod.com.
