FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Shelia Dianne Sholar Hobbs, 55, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Riverland Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Wagoner and Sister Gaye Bradford officiating.

Burial will follow at Sholar Cemetery in Ferriday under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Hobbs was born on Monday, August 17, 1959, in Hattiesburg.

Hobbs was a nurse for 25 years and a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her father, Burlie Sholar, Jr.; sister, Roberta Lynne Turner; niece, Whitney Nicole Butts; and sister, Beverly Kaye Thomas.

Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Ronnie Hobbs; daughter, Sloane Elizabeth Sholar of Monterey; mother, Betty Sholar of Ferriday; brother, Burlie L. Sholar III and wife, Jennifer, of Denham Springs, La.; granddaughters, Elizabeth Zane Sholar and Mariah Roxanne Couch of Monterey; niece, Savannah Sholar of Vidalia; nephews, William J. Oliver III, of Tulsa, Okla., Beau and Jack Sholar of Denham Springs; mother-in-law, Maylene C. Hobbs of Vidalia; sister-in-law, Rhonda Guillott of Vidalia; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who dearly loved her.

Pallbearers will be James Turner, Barney Carl Chandler II, Jason Herbert, Jessica Aldridge, Uel Beard and Nicki Brown.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Nezat and Blake Morris Evans.
