RIDGECREST — A Natchez man is dead as a result of a single vehicle accident Sunday morning.

Robert E. Hargrave, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene, Louisiana State Police said.

Troopers responded to the crash around 3:10 a.m., which occurred on U.S. 84 in the Ridgecrest.

The crash involved a 2011 Nissan Armada driven by Hargrave, who was not wearing a seat belt.

The Nissan was westbound of U.S. 84 when Hargrave lost control of the vehicle and exited the right side of the roadway, Louisiana State Police said.

After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with several trees.

Routine toxically tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
