Natchez Water Works Superintendent Tony Moon said the city is currently reviewing the bids.

“I think they’re planning on making a decision one way or another by the next board meeting,” Moon said.

The second phase of the project will involve significant restoration to sidewalks, curbs and gutters on St. Catherine Street. Also, 32 panels depicting the street’s history will be installed.

Moon said the bulk of the work would be made in the area between the Forks of the Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Street.

The first phase of the project included 5.6 miles of walking trails along Broadway, Rankin, High, Washington and Martin Luther King Jr. streets.
