Daniel and Paula Paul of Monterey announce the engagement of their daughter, Lynn Paul to Patrick Schmit, son of George and Kathleen Schmit of New York City.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Monterey High School and a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She is employed by Plaquemine High School in Plaquemine, La.

She is the granddaughter of Peter and Dorothy Paul of Monterey and Sam and Evylen Cole of Ferriday.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge and a graduate of Queens College in Queens, N.Y. He is also employed by Plaquemine High School.

He is the grandson of George and Florence Schmit of Queens and James and Nancy Powers of Cedarhurst, N.Y.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2015, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Baton Rouge.

A reception will follow at the Baton Rouge Gallery.
