July 8, 1919 – July 10, 2015

CENTREVILLE — Services for Dorothy Bruss, 96, of Centreville, who died Friday July 10, 2015 at Wilkinson County Senior Care, will be 11 a.m. Monday, at Newman Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dennis Johnsey officiating.

Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at Newman Funeral Home.

Ms. Bruss was born July 8, 1919 in Amite County, the daughter of Adolph Hughes and Lila Simpson Hughes.

She was a hairdresser and a member of Centreville Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband William Edwin Bruss; daughter Eddy Frances Murrah; son-in-law Sherrill Wayne Murrah and two brothers.

Survivors include two grandchildren: Sherrill Wayne Murrah, Jr. of Centreville, and Clint Barry Murrah and wife, Jackie, of Hot Springs, Ark., and two great-grandchildren, Amber and Josh Murrah. She is also survived by nieces and nephews that were faithful caregivers; Imogene Leake, Christy Bruss and Lamont Rowe.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Garahan, Lane Bellue, Josh Murrah, Warren Leake, Phillip Leake and Brandon Rowe.
