NATCHEZ — Services for Bobby Neal Thornburg, 66, who died Sunday, July 19, 2015, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.L. Hammitte officiating.07:23 BobbyThornburg obitpic

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today with a celebration of life service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Thornburg was born Jan. 7, 1949, in Natchez, the son of Neal and Claudia Thornburg.

He attended Natchez-Adams public schools.

Bobby also served in the U.S. Army and was a self-employed electrician.

Bobby was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He loved fishing and buying and selling goods.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; two brothers, Kent and Terry Thornburg; his grandparents; three nephews; and one niece.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Fletcher Thornburg; two sons, Melvin Latham and Carl Latham; one stepson, Jessie Washington and wife, Treniece, of Hattiesburg; one daughter, Jacqueline Coleman and husband, Eddie; one stepdaughter, Cassandra McAllister of Houston; six brothers, Claude Thornburg and wife, Marie, Dwight Thornburg and wife, Brenda, Scottie Wayne Thornburg, Lyncoln Thornburg, Lloyd Thornburg and wife, Margaret, and Vernon Thornburg, all of Natchez; three sisters, Felicia Davis and husband, Ike, Ella Jackson and husband, Charles, all of Natchez, and Mary Agnes Carter and husband, James, of Laurel; one great-uncle, Luther Thornburg of Natchez; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
