Today, my desire is to enlighten you on an exceptionally well-qualified candidate for sheriff of this great county that we all call home.

This candidate has the skills, morals, values, and the integrity that is needed to move our county forward. He current works in law enforcement, community development, and serves as a deacon at church. This candidate is none other than my brother, Travis Lamont Patten.

Upon graduating from Natchez High School, Travis began his career in the U.S. Navy. His military tour of duty proved to be very rewarding. He developed a vast amount of knowledge for handling many diverse and challenging situations. Travis was part of an emergency response team on his assigned vessel, the USS Kennedy. On a daily basis, his team was directly responsible for the safety of thousands of personnel on the vessel. He finished his tour of duty with an honorable discharge.

Following his military tour of duty, Travis returned home to Mississippi where he started his law enforcement career with the Claiborne County Sheriff’s department. During this time, he was awarded the opportunity to complete the law enforcement training academy in Pearl.

This training opportunity provided him with the skills that he needed to assist the department with a variety of criminal cases. His ambition and drive afforded Travis with the opportunity to enhance his law enforcement skills.

Travis has continued to work in law enforcement with the Natchez Police Department and the Adams County Sheriff’s Department. He has been instrumental in assisting with the resolution to numerous crimes both large and small scale.

On many of these cases, he was the lead officer assigned to work the crimes with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. He still has an outstanding rapport with deputies from the sheriff’s department, Miss.Highway Patrol, Metro Narcotics, etc.

Travis has diligently worked with law enforcement while active working with me at my real estate development and mortgage businesses, as well as faithfully serving as a deacon at our church. In the business, he has managed and coordinated numerous housing development and rehabilitation projects. For the last few years, Travis has also handled the financing of multiple millions of dollars of projects. Projects of these magnitudes required him to be fiscally responsible while continually multi tasking.

Travis faithfully serves as a deacon at his church.

Part of his voluntary duties includes serving as a liaison for the security team and the youth department.

I ask that you pray, support and vote for Travis Lamont Patten on Aug. 4.
