Adams County Circuit Court Cases 

Thursday, July 23

Alyssa Brooke Standeford pleaded guilty to manslaughter, the lesser included offense of “Murder in the 1st Degree,” in Judge Sanders’ court. Sentenced to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections with five years suspended.

Corey Lee Rice pleaded guilty to possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (cocaine), in an amount greater than 10 grams, but less than 30 grams, in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Full credit given for time already served as allowed by law. Must receive Intensive Therapeutic Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation and Treatment with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Must pay all court costs and fees, including a $200 prosecution fee. The State agrees to dismiss, retire or not pursue Count II (possession of a weapon by a convicted felon).

 

Natchez Municipal Court Cases 

Friday, July 24

Curtis Brown Jr., 51, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace. Sentenced to 30 days with 26 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve four days in jail. Fine set at $373 minus $50 credit. Must pay a fine of $323.

Alvin C. Gaylor, 32, pleaded guilty to three counts of misdemeanor uttering a forgery. Fine set at $450 and restitution set at $1,291.20 on the first count. Fine set at $45 on the second count. Fine set at $450 and restitution set at $1,385.21 on the third count.

 

Monday, July 27

Demestra L. Winding Jr., 27, charged with shoplifting – 1st offense. Case dismissed – K. Bennett no longer employed at Walmart per Walmart.

Demestra L. Winding Jr., 27, charged with petit larceny. Case dismissed – K. Bennett no longer employed at Walmart per Walmart.

David S. Taylor Jr., 30, charged with fleeing or eluding a law enforcement officer in a motor vehicle. Case remanded to files in lieu of plea to T#104783.

Curtis D. Sanders, 41, pleaded guilty to trespassing. Sentenced to 45 days in jail from date arrested. No fine assessed.

Kenzell Issac pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace – domestic violence. Sentenced to 30 days with 29 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Credit given for one day served. Fine set at $473.

 

Wednesday, July 29

Mikel D. Chatman, 25, charged with simple assault – domestic violence. Case dismissed for failure to appear on served subpoena.

Dwight Roy Williams, 23, pleaded not contest to DUI 1st offense test results. Sentenced to 48 hours suspended. Total fine set at $1,050.

Nakiyah Crawford, 18, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $573.

Sierra Lavetta Robinson, 28, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $373.
