VIDALIA — Services for Vinnie V. Jones, 104, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at Merit Health Natchez Community Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Starlight Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Leroy Brown officiating.

Burial will follow at the Whitehall Cemetery in Vidalia under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, with an Eastern Star service from 7 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Mrs. Jones was born July 13, 1911, in Deer Park, the daughter of Annie Dunbar Sanders.

She united in marriage to Leroy Jones Sr., Dec. 23, 1926. She was a longtime member of Starlight Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Leroy Jones Sr., and an active member of the Rose Chapter No. 65 Order of Eastern Star, Woman’s Relief Corp, Heroine of Jericho and other organizations where she served faithfully.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her mother; her husband; two sons, J.D. Jones and Leonard D. Jones Sr.; one daughter, Helen Marie Alexis; three brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include three sons, Leroy Jones Jr. and wife, Aretha, of Drummonds, Tenn., Dave R. Jones Sr. and wife, Renee, of Memphis, Tenn., and Willie D. Jones of Salam, Ore.; two daughters-in-law, Daisy L. Jones of Grandview, Mo., and Clara M. Jones of Eugene, Ore.; 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
