NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Mary Alice Harrigill Lofton, 79, of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. today at the Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. John Kramer officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lofton was born April 18, 1936, in Adams County, the daughter of Lewie Harrigill and Katie Zimmerman Harrigill.

She retired in 1998 after 36 years of service from Natchez Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Lofton was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Chester Allen Gwin; and her husband, William Howard Lofton.

Survivors include one son, Charlie Gwin of Fort White, Fla.; one daughter, Charlotte Ann Byrne and husband, Johnny, of Natchez; eight grandchildren, Jack Byrne of Natchez, Keith Gwin of Fort White, Stephanie Kinsman of Dallas, Ben Lofton of Gilmer, Texas, Josh Lofton of Richardson, Texas, Michael Lofton of Elk Grove, Calif., Mary Kate Partridge of Fort Smith, Ark., and Ginny Robbins of Parker, Colo.; a number of great-grandchildren; one brother, Lewis Harrigill and wife, Nell, of Vidalia; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Stubbs, Ashley Wilson, Deaconess Home Health Care, Deaconess Hospice, caregivers Twana Sewell, Carolyn Anderson, Melisa Tucker and Grace United Methodists Church family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society Building Fund/Dog Kennel Fund or Grace United Methodist Church.
