LAFAYETTE, La. — Services for Randy Layne Bond, 60, of Lafayette, La., who died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at his residence will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville with the Revs. Gary Norris and Daniel Hixon officiating.

Burial will follow at Galvin’s Creek Cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bond was born on Sept. 1, 1955, in Ferriday, the son of Howard W. Bond and Lucille Hudnall Bond.

He was a 1973 graduate of Block High School in Jonesville and received his bachelor of science degree in nursing from Northeast Louisiana University in 1977. He later earned a master of science degree in 1997 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. During his professional career, he worked at both Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center and at Lafayette General Hospital where he was head nurse of neurology for 17 years.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Barry Kent Bond; nephew, Craig Allen Bond and grandparents, Carl and Dena Bounds Bond and Henry and Pearl McClure Hudnall.

Survivors include his mother; brother, Brian Bond and wife, Pam; nephews Brian David Bond and Lance Bond and wife, Brandi and by great nephews and nieces, Riley Bond, Cameron Bond, Samuel Bond, Tanner Bond, Tucker Bond, Abbi Bond, Laci Bond and Kassi Bond.

Pallbearers are Brian David Bond, Lance Bond, Joseph Brady, Derek Calk, Terry Smith and Keith Tarver.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home or the Cliff Williams Memorial Foundation.
