Man arrested in connection with home invasion

FERRIDAY — A New Orleans man was arrested in Ferriday Thursday after allegedly breaking into a house in July and attacking a resident..

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Vernon Stevens said Louis R. Ceasor, 32, 1868 N. Galvez St., New Orleans, was arrested Thursday by the Ferriday Police Department and transferred to the CPSO in connection to the July 29 home invasion.

In the July incident, Stevens said deputies were called to 110 Willow St., Ridgecrest, in response to a call about a break-in. Ceasor allegedly banged at the victim’s window and, when he could not obtain entry, kicked in the garage door.

Ceasor allegedly choked and punched the victim repeatedly. He left before deputies arrived, and the victim identified him to the deputies.

CPSO issued a warrant for Ceasor’s arrest for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

Acting Ferriday Chief of Police Margaret Lawrence said Ceasor was initially arrested Thursday night in Ferriday on a warrant for driving under suspension and disturbing the peace with loud music. Upon transfer to CPSO, charges of simple battery and home invasion were added.

Ceasor was still in jail Friday afternoon with a bond of $30,000.
