Sicily Island falls at home

SICILY ISLAND — The Delhi High School Bears took care of Sicily Island at the Tigers’ homecoming game 42-8 Friday night to stay near the top of the standings in LHSAA District 2-1A.

Delhi (5-2, 3-1) jumped out to a 30-0 lead over Sicily Island and never looked back. The Tigers scored their only touchdown in the second quarter, but still trailed the Bears 36-8 at halftime.

No other information on the game was available and efforts to reach head coach Stephen Collins for comments were unsuccessful.

Sicily Island (0-7, 0-4) will look to pick up its first win of the season when it plays host to Delta Charter School next Friday at 7 p.m.
