Adams County Justice Court Cases

Week of Nov. 6-12

Ryan Prince charged with grand larceny. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Michael Dix charged with false pretense. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Anthony Thompson pleaded guilty to trespassing.

Kristie Sewell pleaded guilty to two counts of simple assault.

 

Adams County Circuit Court Cases –

Monday, Nov. 9

Evelyn Whatley pleaded guilty to abuse, neglect and exploitation forbidden in Judge Johnson’s court. Sentenced to six years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections for exploiting a vulnerable adult as charged in the indictment. After serving one year, the remaining five years is suspended. The defendant shall serve the suspended five years on formal reporting supervision through the Mississippi Department of Corrections. As a special condition, the defendant shall pay restitution to the victim in the amount of $43,980.00. The defendant shall also receive drug rehabilitation and treatment through the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Must pay all court costs and fees and a $200 prosecution fee.

 

Natchez Municipal Court Cases 

Friday, Nov. 6

William Ross Jr., 19, found guilty of shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $598.

Darnell A. Houseworth, 26, found not guilty of simple assault – domestic violence 2nd offense.

Brandy R. Gatlin, 32, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $573.

Dominisha Taylor, 23, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $573.

Courtney McQuirter, 24, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from all Walmart locations. Fine set at $573.

Susan Hinson, 45, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days with 25 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Credit given for five days served. Banned from store. Fine set at $783 minus $125 credit. Must pay a fine of $658.

 

Monday, Nov. 9

Carlos J. Owens, 33, charged with willful trespassing. Case remanded to files at written request of homeowner.

Tywone Noble, 19, charged with willful trespassing. Case remanded to files at written request of homeowner.

Gregory Robinson, 60, pleaded guilty to three counts of misdemeanor false pretense. Total fine set at $1,421.07.
