Giving thanks is not just for one day

Published 1:07 am Thursday, November 26, 2015

As we acknowledge the spirit of Thanksgiving, we first want to thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving us his Son Jesus Christ, according to John 3:16.

So this Thanksgiving day, as we recognize God’s blessing, we know it’s an everyday thing. No matter what time of year it is, we are always supposed to give thanks.

Even though this is the season of blessing, Thanksgiving reminds us that the world is filled with reason to rejoice.

The word of God says, according to the book of Philippians 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord Always, and again I say, Rejoice.”

So, as we look back over our lives and think about the goodness of Jesus and all He has done for us, we have a right to rejoice and count our blessings.

So as we sit around the table and fill the warmth of happiness, love, joy, memories that comes from family, friends, and see all the familiar faces and hear all, the familiar laughter at this beautiful Thanksgiving season.

So as we observe this joyous season, let’s not ever forget the less fortunate and do our part to help someone along life’s way.

So as we take pleasure in our golden moments, let’s remember the many blessings we have, our families, our health, our home and the innumerable things that we sometimes take for granted.

So, as I end this article, I leave you with Psalm 100:4 — “Enter into his gates with Thanks giving, and into his courts with praise. Be Thankful unto him and Bless his name.”

His name is worthy. Have a happy, joyous season.
