Choctaw to host Humane Society event

Published 1:12 am Wednesday, December 9, 2015

Please join us for our annual Natchez-Adams County Humane Society Christmas fundraiser on from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at beautiful Choctaw Hall, home of David Gardner and Lee Glover, located at 310 North Wall St.

This year’s theme is Christmas Around the World featuring foods from Mexico, France and the Caribbean all prepared by local caterer and animal lover Rhonda Tarver. And, of course, as always, there will be the usual spread of tempting desserts, provided by our devoted humane society volunteers and the Natchez Newcomer’s Club.

We can’t tell you how thrilled we are that David and Lee have so graciously invited us into their newly renovated home. Open to the public for the first time, you’ll be able to tour all four floors, each filled with gorgeous period antiques while listening to Natchez native Burnley Cook on the piano. I promise, you don’t want to miss this party, it’s going to be fabulous!

A $25 donation per person can be paid at the door. All proceeds will benefit the homeless pets at the new shelter on Liberty Road in Natchez.

There will be a cash bar and over 75 silent auction items available this year including a luxury romance package from Hotel Vue, gifts from local vendors such as Eccentricities and Towers Collection, gift baskets, gift certificates and much, much more! This is a great time to get those last minute Christmas gifts or, better yet, bid on something for yourself!

This is also a great time to set up a monthly pledge beginning with the new year. Because the Humane Society is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, all donations are tax deductible. We can’t do any of it without your help.

Remember, you can always visit our website at www.natchezpetadoptions.org to see pictures of current, adoptable pets or come see us at 475 Liberty Road. To make a donation, send a check or money order to P.O. Box 549, Natchez, MS 39121-0549.

Our animals are always in need of basic supplies like food, toys, blankets and cleaning supplies. You’d be answering a lot of prayers if you can make room on your Christmas list this year for our furry friends. For a complete list of all “wish list” items, you can visit our website under the “Help” section. If you have any questions about the party or adoptions, you may contact Susan Callon at 601-660-5268.

Please know how much we appreciate and love all of you! None of this would be possible without your continued support.

This is going to be fabulous evening of food, fun, socializing and raising money to benefit the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society. I look forward to seeing you there! Merry Christmas!
