Lights, camera, action!

Christmas comes but once a year, however Christ is with us 365 days of the year. Christmas is a time of reflections, a time for good cheer, a time for friends and family.

We, the Rev. Dwight Greene and first lady Beverly Greene, officers and members of Living Word Worship Center wish to extend, a personal invitation to you, our friends of the Miss-Lou and surrrounding communities, to come and celebrate with the Living Word Worship Center’s family as our Performing Arts Academy Ministry present our inaugural Christmas stage play musical, “The Have and Have Nots Holiday” written and directed by the fine arts minister, Vickie Green.

We know that Christmas is a time that various re-enactments, nativities and depictions are displayed nation wide of our glorious Savior, Jesus Christ, because Christ is Christmas. Through this time of year, many can become overwhelmed with the hustle and bustle of spending excessive monies, purchasing and preparing an abundance of food, decking the halls with boughs of holly, displaying glorious array of lights, and while all of that is well and dandy, let us not neglect those that “have not.” Helping those in need is a major theme of this dramatization as it was a major theme in Jesus’ ministry. This Christmas stage play dramatization expounds vividly of, “The Haves,” that have it all, except what’s truly important, and that’s Christ.

Wow! The Bible clearly tells us that we should share generously with those in need, and great things will come to us in turn. Unfortunately, certain members of the, Vanderwolf household don’t share the same ideas this Christmas. The Vanderwolfs —“The Haves”— one of the wealthiest, social oriented families in their community was selected to host an unfortunate family into their Mansion to share Christmas dinner and to encourage the “have not” family.

Christmas with “The Have and Have Nots” will be an unforgettable Christmas stage play musical that will leave a warm feeling within the hearts of the audience this Christmas and the days after.

Earline Collins is cast in the lead role as Mrs. Vanderwolf. Chris Sherman will play Mr. Vanderwolf. Jocelyn Rice, Rosie Hawkins and rapper Joshua Watson will play the roles of the Vanderwolf children. Other cast members include, Peggy Scales as Luna, Engwin Yarnee’ as Baby Doll, Cartrel “Preacherman” Smith as the pastor, Terrie Carter as the reporter.

At 7 p.m. on Dec. 20, all roads will lead to Living Word Worship Center to hear the soulful contemporary Christian and explosives vocal sounds of some of the Miss-Lou’s most power house singers in this stage play. Gracing the scenes with their voices with exhilarating light, fog and sound effects are other cast members, including recording artist Emerson Hill as Jeffery, Ashely White as Charity, Vickie Green as Willimena, Cartell Smith as Pastor Yawh and a special composed musical piece by upcoming music maestro Edwin Lee Green II, a music composer for the Performing Arts Academy at Living Word Worship Center.

This magical evening with the Performing Art’s Academy Ministry is the perfect gift to present to your family, friends, church ministries, organizations etc. The program is absolutely free. Only a free will offering will be rendered.

We extend this invitation to each of you to come out and get your praise, laughter and cry on as this Christmas production fills your heart with holiday cheer and abundance of love and sharing the splendid news of how Christ is the center of Christmas for “The Haves and Have Nots”. Let us all proclaim that Jesus means more to us than anything.

Again, we invite you to be our guest at 7 p.m. Dec. 20 at 8 Covington Road in Natchez for the inaugural Christmas drama, “The Guest who’s coming to Dinner-The Have and Have Nots Holiday.”
