Mississippi State’s Mullen denies offering position to Alcorn’s Hopson

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State head football coach Dan Mullen denied a Tuesday night report that linked him to offering a position on his staff to Alcorn State head coach Jay Hopson.
The report originated from FootballScoop.com, an Internet source for coaching job information.
Mullen went on to say he has no plans to fill the vacant position on his staff until National Signing Day — Feb. 3 — has passed.
Hopson did not respond Wednesday to texts from The Democrat.
