For the Love of Broadway, a Benefit for the Natchez Festival of Music will be an event not to be missed. The evening will include songs from some of Broadway’s greatest musicals, an elegant dinner prepared by Chef Bingo Starr, silent auction featuring Natchez and Louisiana artists, and a live auction featuring great dinner/travel packages with Rusty Jenkins as auctioneer.

This year’s musical entertainment will include Maryann Kyle, Peter Lake, Krista McKenzie, Emmie Perkins and Tyler Kemp. A silent auction will provide many spectacular pieces of art including paintings, framed photos, jewelry, pottery and much more. Once the dinner and show are over, the live auction will be sure to entertain with Natchez’s own Rusty Jenkins commanding the stage! Live auction items include an assortment of travel and dinning packages including a one week stay in Perdido Key, Fla., a Natchitoches trip at the new hotel, Chateau Saint Denis, opening this fall, a one-of-a-kind “SUKAZ” jacket by designer Susan Colter Hollingsworth and much more!

Maryann Kyle is an active performer of opera, concert and recital repertoire and a professor of voice at the University of Southern Mississippi where she is director of the Southern Opera and Music Theatre Company’s Outreach and Workshop program and is known and involved internationally with many organizations. Peter Lake recently completed his master’s in vocal performance at USM and will play Don Jose in USM’s production of Carmen, and Remendado, covering Don Jose, in Mississippi Opera’s April production of Carmen. Krista McKenzie currently serves as the choral director of Laurel High School. Danielle Adams currently maintains an active voice studio in Tupelo and frequently performs, most recently singing the role of Cosette in Tupelo Community Theatre’s production of “Les Miserables.” Emmie Perkins is a ninth-grade honor student at Oak Grove High School where she is in Drama and CenterStage Showchoir. In August, Emmie finished as a Top 6 finalist in New York City where she competed in the “Broadway KidStar” national competition. Tyler Kemp received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree of music in piano performance from Mississippi College where he is currently on the faculty and serves as accompanist for the MC Opera and Musical Theater, MC Singers, and coordinates and accompanies in the voice and instrumental departments.
