William Lee Geter

WOODVILLE — Services for William Lee “Bill” Geter, 79, of Woodville, who died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Field Health Systems in Centreville, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pioneer Baptist Church in Woodville with the Rev. Warren Whitaker, the Rev. Bernard Waites and the Rev. Kevin Dixon officiating.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Pioneer Baptist Church.

Mr. Geter was born July 9, 1936, in Adams County, the son of Cliff and Etta Geter.

He was a retired right-of-way foreman for the Mississippi Environmental Protection Agency.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Aubrey Geter and Freddie Geter; and one great-granddaughter, Raven Murray.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ernestine Geter of Woodville; one son, David and wife, Jackie Geter, of Natchez; four daughters, Yvonne and husband, Marion Yarbrough, of Woodville, Toni and husband, Eugene Pritchard of Woodville, Mary and husband, Tim Wilson, of Woodville and June Smith of Woodville; one brother, Cecil Geter of Vicksburg; three sisters, Louise McKlemurry of Woodville, Mary Katherine Van Buren of Woodville and Margaret Ann Murray of Centreville; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Neal Murray, Ed Walker, Cory Geter, Timmy Wilson, Jordon Smith, Joseph Geter and Kaleb Smith.

Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Bob Lewis, Dr. Kumar, Dr. Owens, Dr. Petty, Robert June, Alvester McKlemurry, Dennis “Jiggs” Wisner, Russel Till, and Ronnie Longmire.
