ACCS boys, girls win

COLUMBIA — Adams County Christian School overcame an eight-point deficit at halftime to beat Centreville Academy 75-59 in the boys MAIS Division AAA South State playoffs Wednesday Night.

Brody Cole led the Rebels in scoring with 24 points and Andrew Ratcliff posted 23 points.

“In the first half, we were going through the motions,” ACCS coach Richy Spears said. “We woke up in the second half, and we played good defense and got transition baskets.”

The big spurt came in the third period when ACCS outscored Cetreville 32-10, en route to the win.

ACCS advances to play district rival and tournament host Columbia Academy at 6:30 p.m. Friday night.

ACCS girls 70, Columbia 20

COLUMBIA — Adams County Christian School girls basketball shut down Central Private’s offense and advanced to the second round of South State with a 70-20 win.

“We started out slow, but we pulled it together late in the first quarter and into the second quarter,” ACCS assistant coach Brandy Hall said. “Once we got things going it just kept going well for us.”

Anna McDaniel led ACCS scorers with 13 and Bianna Henson had 11 points. ACCS will face Silliman Columbia Academy Friday at 4 p.m.
