NATCHEZ — Services for John C. “Superfly” Laushaw, 79, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Jerusalem Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Jr. Road, with the Rev. Earnest Ford Sr. officiating.02:11 JohnLaushaw obitpic

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel in Natchez and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mr. Laushaw was born Sept. 17, 1936, in Perrytown, the son of Roosevelt and Josephine Washington Laushaw.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Laushaw was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy W. Laushaw; four children, Dwight Laushaw and wife, Tonya, of North Carolina, Chevalor Banks and husband, Johnnie, of Houston, Justin Laushaw of Kansas and John Laushaw Jr. of Pearl; two stepchildren, Jacquelin Davis and James Norman and wife, Vashanda, of Natchez; two sisters, Thelma Jones and husband, Walter, of Roxie and Inez Young of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, James Laushaw and wife, Lilly, of Doloroso and Charles Laushaw of Denver; two aunts, Martha Owens and Rosie Granger of Crosby; four sisters-in-law, Jane Washington, Anna R. Clark, Joann Session and husband, Donald, and Louis Washington; four brothers-in-law, Robert Washington and wife, Emma, Henry Washington, Willie E. Washington and John Washington; eight grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
