Betty Jean Blaney

NATCHEZ — Services for Betty Jean Blaney, 66, of Vidalia, who died Friday, April 15, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel, with Allen Terrell delivering the eulogy.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Blaney was born March 25, 1950, in Natchez, the daughter of Edgar Sherwood Groover and Catherine Higgins Groover.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Goldie and Nancy Blaney.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald Blaney; one daughter, Angela Blaney; two sons, Jack Blaney and wife, Carrie, and Jason Blaney and wife, Sharon; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Blaney and Leyton Blaney; one great-granddaughter, Aislynn Miller; three step-grandchildren, Kaleb Myers, Libby Myers and Sam Myers; two sisters, Edna Melton and husband, Robert, and Mary Bailey husband, Billy Jo; one brother, Luckie Jack Groover and wife, Sharon; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jason Felter, George Daniels, Thomas Groover, Randy Freeman, Ryan Parker and Beau Hale.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Scott and Travis Bass.
