NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Thornton “Hardy” Farrar Jr., 78, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in Ferriday, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at King-Farrar Cemetery in Kingston with the Rev. David Tarver officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.

Mr. Hardy was born Aug. 21, 1937, in the Wilkinson Community, the son of Thornton Hardy Farrar Sr. and Winnie Tyler Farrar Crain.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Josephine Farrar and Grace Farrar; and one son, Olivier Laran Farrar.

Survivors include one daughter, Charmain Farrar of Vidalia; one son, Thornton Hardy “Buddy” Farrar III and wife, Polly, of Vidalia; one brother, Henry Farrar of Marshall, Texas; two sisters, Ella Fong of Garland, Texas and Martha Barley and husband, James, of Plano, Texas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Braxton Farrar, Roger Sanders, Ethan Sanders, Leslie Floyd, Thomas Freeman and Brent Boyd.
