FERRIDAY — A Natchez man was killed Friday night in a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana 903 near Ferriday.
Frank Edward Davis, 62, was not wearing a seatbelt when he lost control of his 2003 Ford pickup truck, Louisiana State Police report.
The vehicle left the eastbound roadway and collided with a tree.
Louisiana State Police responded to the accident at 11:55 p.m. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. The driver’s medical condition may have caused the crash, police report.
Louisiana law requires that every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, always remain buckled up. Not wearing a seat belt remains the leading cause of death in motor vehicle crashes.
State police in the Troop E region, including Concordia Parish, have investigated 14 fatal crashes in 2016, resulting in 16 fatalities.
