NATCHEZ — Services for Ralph Lewis Laukhuff Jr., 73, of Vidalia, who died Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at the Carpenter House in Lafayette, La., will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Laukhuff was born Nov. 21, 1942, in Memphis, the son of Ralph Lewis Laukhuff Sr. and Martin “Mickey” Laukhuff Walker.

He was an avid LSU fan, a lover of all things golf, an engineer in all aspects of his life, and above all else, a man who loved his family.

During the course of his life, Ralph worked for various companies, including Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co. in Natchez and Forte and Tablada in Baton Rouge. However, the crowning achievement of his career was his work with the Sidney A. Murray Jr. Hydroelectric Station, where he worked for over 20 years. In his tenure with the hydroelectric station, Ralph also worked closely with the City of Vidalia and served on various boards and councils which had a direct and lasting impact on the community.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Karla Marie Laukhuff.

Survivors include three children, Ralph Lewis “Randy” Laukhuff III and wife, Bethaney, of Lafayette, Kari Marie Laukhuff Blaney and husband, Kippy, of Lake St. John and Brittny Marie Laukhuff of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Chase John Laukhuff of Natchez, Chad Lewis Laukhuff and wife, Bailey, of Midland, Texas, Charles Leggett of Lafayette, Christian Leggett of Dallas, Gary Leggett of Dallas, Emily and Cade Farmer of Natchez, Chad and April Blaney of Natchez and Wesley and Robyn Blaney of Natchez; and friend and caregiver Linda DeRouen of Lafayette.

Pallbearers will be Christian Leggett, Charles Leggett, Gary Leggett, Mark Carter Sr., Mark Carter Jr. and Will Carter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cade Farmer, Chad Blaney and Wesley Blaney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for pancreatic cancer research or to a charity of choice.
