Early voting begins today in Louisiana

VIDALIA — Concordia Parish voters may begin in-person, early voting today for the 2016 presidential and local elections.

Residents may vote at the Concordia Parish Registrar of Voter’s office, located at 4001 Carter St., Suite K.

Voters do not need a reason to vote early and may do so beginning today. Residents must present a valid photo ID.

Early voting hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Connie Adair, running for Ridgecrest alderman, will be elected without an opponent to fill the vacant seat on the board.

Other local races on the ballot include:

  • For Vidalia municipal judge, independent Stuart Boykin and Republican Scott McLemore;
  • For Vidalia municipal court’s city marshal, independents Jim Boren and Bruce Wiley and Democrat Frank Duson;
  • For justice of the peace in District 1, Democrats Elijah “Stepper” Banks and Justin Conner and Republican Benja Fussell.

Other races on the ballot include justices for the Third Court of Appeal in divisions B and C; associate justice to the Louisiana Supreme Court for the fourth district; the U.S. Fifth Congressional District; U.S. Senate; and U.S. President.

The ballot for presidential candidate will include Democrat Hillary Clinton, Republican Donald Trump, Green Jill Stein and Libertarian Gary Johnson.
