God has given us much for which to be thankful

As we traditionally observe and celebrate a national holiday called Thanksgiving, we cannot help but look back over our lives and say “Lord we thank you.” We also know that it was a day set aside on the calendar once a year traditionally to never forget to give thanks. What a perfect and opportune time to do so.

But we know that every day we give our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ thanks. If it wasn’t for the Lord on our side, where would we be?

Lord, we thank you.

There is joy in just being thankful. When will we reach out and help needy families. You can feel the joy in your spirit of helping, and we are thankful to be able to do so.

So as we recognize our blessings in our lives today, let’s not forget to reach out a helping hand to someone along life’s way. Let our heart, mind, soul and spirit be filled with the joy of a thankful God. We are not lose the spirit of gratitude in thanking the Lord Jesus Christ for all he has done for us.

Psalm 95:2 says, “Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto him with psalm.”

We do not just have to wait until we go to the house of the Lord and give him thanks. We know we can give him thanks anywhere.

I end this article with a few Psalms from the Bible. Psalm 100:4 says, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise. Be thankful unto him and bless his name.”

Also Psalm 105, a thanksgiving Psalm, says, “O, give thanks unto the Lord, all upon his name; make known his deeds among the people.”

And this is a song of thanksgiving, Psalm 136:1-26. You can read it for yourself.

It’s in the word of God.

So may the blessings of the Lord be upon us all.

To God be the glory.
