JACKSON — Services for Eunice W. Nowell, 96, of Mena, Ark., formerly of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at Brandon Nursing and Rehab, will be 11 a.m. today at Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson.
Mrs. Nowell was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Crystal Springs, the daughter of Louis J. and Mattie Boutwell Wahl.
She was a longtime resident of Natchez and spent most of her remaining years with her daughter in Mena.
She was a graduate of Crystal Springs High School and later finished Draugn’s Business School. She married her sweetheart, H.T. Nowell, May 19, 1940. Together they had five children.
Mrs. Nowell was retired from the U.S. Government Experiment Station in Vicksburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two children, Dona Granger and Wayne Nowell; and three brothers, Eugene, Carl and Joe Wahl.
Survivors include three children, Ralph Nowell and wife, Kitty, Elaine Nowell and Richard Nowell and wife, Nora; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
