NATCHEZ — Services for Charles Francis “Bubba” Patterson Jr., 87, of Church Hill, who died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Christ Episcopal Church in Church Hill with the Rev. Sam Godfrey officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Patterson was born on Oct. 19, 1929, in Natchez, the son of Charles F. Patterson Sr. and Anita McCreight Patterson.
He was an avid outdoorsman and an Episcopalian.
Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elizabeth Patterson Geoghegan.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Catherine Virginia “Jinny” Patterson; one daughter, Elizabeth Rose Patterson Thompson and husband, Eddie, of Natchez; one son, Charles Francis “Pat” Patterson III of Church Hill; two grandchildren, Shannon Goodwin and husband, Thomas, of Birmingham, Ala., and Drew Thompson and wife, Summer, of Natchez; and five great-grandchildren, Noah Goodwin, Rose Goodwin, Fannie Goodwin, Stratton Thompson and John Henry Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Church or Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Freddy Sandel, Pete Guedon, Allen Lane, Bob Guedon, Adolph Wagner, Louis Guedon, Mike Guedon, Robert Lewis and Jimmy Frazier.
Honorary pallbearers will be L.C. Smith, John Payne Ratcliff, Darrell Smith, John D. Frazier III, Emile and Delia Guedon, Arch and Mary Ed Guedon, Billy Davis, and the employees of the International Paper Company Lab.
